Do you understand the difference between possession and possession with intent to distribute (PWI)?

If you've been arrested on drug charges, It could mean the difference between paying a fine and serving serious jail time.

Although Oklahoma updated their drug laws in 2018 making certain types of possession only a misdemeanor, law enforcement can still charge you with PWI based on other circumstances.

Defendants found with a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) along with scales, bags, twisty-ties, multiple containers of a drug, or packaging supplies may be charged with possession with intent to distribute.

This means that even drugs that are only intended for personal use (typically a possession charge) can potentially land you in jail for MUCH more serious charges.

At the Law Offices of Adam R. Banner, P.C. our lawyers have successfully defended many clients facing possession with intent as we understand and can overcome the tactics law enforcement use to collect evidence. For more information click the "learn more" button below.
